Town of Lares

After the caves and a yummy authentic Puerto Rican lunch, we drove over to the town of Lares to visit their world famous ice cream shop.  It is a hole in the wall right in the middle of the town square across from the church.  This place was featured on the Food Channel for its unusual ice cream flavors... And being the ice cream lover that I am, this place has been on my list to visit!  They have your regular everyday flavors but they also have: Garlic, Cod Fish, Sweet Potato, Corn (the most popular flavor), Breadfruit, Plantains, Tamarindo, Avocado, Rice & Beans, Sesame Seed, Ginger, & Carrot.
