Our Christmas tradition continues with the kids... This year we "built" our Christmas shoe boxes online through Samaritan's Purse. The kids picked out everything they wanted to go inside virtually by clicking their choices for a boy & a girl exactly their own age. It was so fun & easy!
In the past we have learned what country they were sent to (which has been so exciting)... But this year we learned that all the boxes built online will be distributed to "restricted access" countries... meaning these countries may or may not have a good relationship with the US and/or they want to know exactly what is being brought into their countries. Some examples I was told would be one of the following: Korea, China, Phillippines, Sudan, Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Ethiopia, Yemen... and the list continues...
So... we will not know exactly where our boxes are going this year but we DO KNOW that an impoverished child far, far away will be blessed with a box filled with special things for Christmas that might not have otherwise. It is all about God's love & compassion... Pass it on!
