Great News for Zoe!

Yesterday afternoon we received Zoe's official letter from the Unites States Citizen & Immigration Services (USCIS) for her to appear in their Norfolk, VA office on 11/24/10 at 8am alongside her parents to receive her US Citizenship documents!!!  We are so excited!  I started jumping up & down.  This has been such a long process and we were warned that we may not hear anything from USCIS until spring of next year.  So, it was a SWEET surprise!  We plan to drive to Norfolk the night before and stay in a hotel since we have to arrive so early in the am.  It's about a 2-2.5hr drive from our house.

I have been working so hard on this whole process (getting all her social worker home visits completed so we could process her readoption in the US, then once the readoption was completed we could officially request a birth certificate for her from the state of VA, and then we could address the citizenship documents for our country).  Each part had to be in order & required a load of paperwork and fees, of course.  Now, once we get her citizenship documents in hand we can apply for her US passport and then I'll feel like I can relax.  Yeah!  ; )

Zoe will be receiving her US Citizenship paperwork the day before Thanksgiving!  Boy, do we have a lot to be thankful for this past year.  God has been so good to us and our sweet baby girl!
